LTL (Palletized large shipment): Tracking & Delivered?

Updated on Mar 13, 2025

There are two common questions that many of our customers ask us when it comes to LTL (palletized large shipments):

  • Why isn't my tracking number working?
  • My tracking says delivered, but I don't have my order.

Why isn't my tracking number working?

Here are the most common reasons why LTL tracking numbers might not work right away:

Delayed Update

  • LTL carriers often work with multiple partners, and tracking updates can take longer than small parcel services. Give it some time and check again later.

Technical Glitch

  • There may be a temporary technical issue with the carrier’s tracking portal. Try again later, or reach out to the carrier’s customer service directly for assistance.

My tracking says delivered, but I don't have my order.

If your tracking number shows “delivered” but your order hasn’t arrived, here’s what you can do:

Check the Delivery Location

  • Verify the location specified in the tracking. Sometimes LTL freight may be dropped at a receiving dock, front office, or with a third party on-site.

Contact the Carrier

  • Call the freight carrier and provide your tracking or PRO number. They may be able to confirm where it was delivered and who signed for it.

Wait a Bit Longer

  • In some cases, a shipment may be marked as “delivered” ahead of time due to paperwork processing. Your shipment might arrive shortly after the status is updated.
