Fire glass is a beautiful and unique alternative to traditional fire media. Usually made from tempered glass, fire glass can withstand the high temperatures of fireplaces and fire pits. More effective than ceramic logs, lava rock, or other fire media, fire glass allows the heat of the fire to fully radiate warmth unimpeded.

Available in different colors and shapes, this special glass creates a stunning visual display as it glitters and reflects in the fire light. Fire glass will not melt, pop, fade, or emit toxic gases when used correctly in fires less than 1500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Is the quality of all fire glass the same?

As with any product, quality can be very different between brands. As crazy as it sounds, not all broken glass is the same and you do get what you pay for. Cheaper priced fire glass on the market today can actually be dangerous and may be impure, which can melt, crack, discolor, or pop out of your fireplace or fire pit. It may also have sharp edges which makes handling it very uncomfortable or even dangerous. We offer the best brands of fire glass available and only sell stuff that we would put in our own fireplaces and fire pits.

Important: Popping can occur if fire glass is wet. Always make sure your glass and fire pit are 100% dry before using it.

Starfire Glass is top-of-the-line, and is able to withstand extremely high temperatures, has a lifetime warranty, and is guaranteed not to fade, melt, crack, or pop. Watch this short video to learn more about Starfire Glass.

What is 'reflective' fire glass?

Depending on the shape, reflective fire glass either has a mirrored finish on one side (fire glass shape) OR is dipped in a reflective coating (fire diamonds and drops). Each reflect light which makes them sparkle and shine more than the standard fire glass.

What is the size 1/4" and 1/2" referring to when ordering fire glass?

The size 1/4" and 1/2" only refer to the thickness of the glass. Not the width. What does this mean? It means that the size of the glass was either a 1/4" or 1/2" before it was broken in to pieces or shaped into beads or diamonds.

Ex. When you order 1/2" Fire Glass, you will get a variety of widths, but all the pieces will be 1/2" in thickness.

Does fire glass ever burn or discolor?

Starfire Glass is designed to withstand the high heat emitted by a gas fire pit or gas fireplace. Our fire glass does not melt or give off any harmful fumes or smoke. We take pride in providing our customers with the best possible performing and aesthetically pleasing fire glass online.

Important: Fire glass DOES NOT work in wood burning fireplaces or fire pits. It must be gas or propane fueled.
