How does a gas hard line compare to a propane tank?

A natural gas or propane hard line is a great option for residential and commercial areas that have access to a buried gas service line.

A liquid propane tank (LPT) is a suitable option when a natural gas or propane gas hard line is unavailable near your location. This allows for direct and easy access to your fuel source.

Which ignition system should I choose?

Match Lit: While holding a long lighter over the burner in one hand, slowly turn the gas valve on to ignite.

CSA Match Lit: CSA is a commercial certification that is occasionally required for use of a fire pit in business locations but can also be used residentially.

Push-Button (or Spark) Ignition: Push and hold a button, (listen for clicking sound) which generates a spark to ignite pilot flame

AWEIS (All Weather Electric Ignition System): This ignition is wired for use with a switch or remote and includes a safety feature that automatically shuts off the gas when it detects the absence of flame. This ignition system can be used in all kinds of weather. In rain or wind, an AWEIS system will keep your fire feature lit. An electrical connection is required in order to run the unit.

CSA On/Off: (Same as AWEIS above but carries a CSA Certification) This electronic, remote control operated On/Off switch is certified for industrial use but can also be used residentially. An electrical connection is required in order to run the unit.

CSA High/Low: (Same as above but comes with a handheld remote that offers on/off and high/low flame height control). This electronic, remote control operated rheostat is certified for industrial use but can also be used residentially. An electrical connection is required in order to run the unit.

Gather family and friends around the Starfire Designs 60" x 32" Copper Canyon Gas Fire Pit for an evening spent fireside. Handmade right here in sunny California, this fire feature makes the perfect focal point for any backyard.

Every Copper Canyon fire pit starts off with high quality copper sheets that are cut and folded to give the shell its sleek, contemporary appeal. Then, an oil-rubbed bronze finish and clear coat and wax seal is added to the shell to ensure the fire pit retains its gorgeous look season after season.

Each piece comes standard with a high quality 304 stainless steel H-burner and pan. To keep the burner dry, the weep holes embedded into the pan allow water to drain through and out the opening so that you don't have to worry about water entering the gas line. For added flair, we include our Starfire brand lava rock for free! Standard and CSA Certified electronic ignitions offer up to 150,000 BTUs, CSA match lit ignitions offer up to 65,000 BTUs, and liquid propane tank (LPT) models are rated up to 90,000 BTUs. Choose from natural gas, a propane gas hardline, or a liquid propane tank (LPT) option to suit your living space needs. Each Copper Canyon comes with a fabric cover to ensure it is protected from harsh outdoor elements, that means you can relish the warm, vibrant flames of your fire feature for many years to come.
