Customize your Sierra with your choice of a manual match lit ignition system that comes standard or with an electronic ignition system upgrade. What is the difference? A match lit ignition system offers simplicity and ease-of-use. To ignite the burner, use a long-stem lighter while slowly opening the gas valve with the included key. Need to accommodate a larger number of friends and family with more flames or to create a more romantic setting for a two-person date? No problem! Turn the key valve counterclockwise for more flames or turn the key valve clockwise to lower the flames. As an alternative to manually lighting your burner with a long-stem lighter, consider upgrading to an On/Off electronic ignition system which offers optional remote control, optional wall switch, optional timer, and optional whole house system operation capabilities (sold separately). This top-of-the-line system boasts of a hot surface igniter for that reliable startup and an internal temperature monitoring feature that will work at monitoring flame status as well as internal temperatures and voltages. Should flame loss occur, the system will immediately shut of the gas flow and then restart the flame sequence to reignite the fire.
