The low profile cover for our fire pit was a good purchase for us. It fits the hexagonal shape we have, giving complete cover and protection from rain, dust, and debris blown by the wind. Don't let the fact that it is aluminum fool you. It's weight isn't too heavy to easily pick up yet it is heavy enough to stay put and will not be blown off by wind. The product arrived as described. There was a choice of a screw on handle for either top mount or side mount. The 2 screws took just a minute to install and the cover was ready to use. The quality of the paint application to the aluminum looks like it will last. The only maintenance I see is an occasional wipe down with water and a towel to remove dust. While this cover is not inexpensive, we went with it because it was of the best quality we could find in stores or on the Internet. It is American Made in Ohio. As we expect to have our fire pit for decades, the utility of the cover over time will make the upfront cost fade in our memories. One final benefit we've found is that to a degree the cover is child resistant. We have many young grandchildren, one who is Autistic. The size and weight of the cover has prevented the children from easily moving it off the fire pit. The dull matte finish doesn't seem to attract the children as a bright color might. It hides the fire glass pebbles that can draw a child's attention. So, bottom line we are very happy with this recent purchase we made through Starfire Direct.
